I am （prospective) PGCE student at Institute of Education, UCL in Modern foreign languages (Mandarin and French) and I am currently….

Primary/Secondary School Experience forms an integral part of my teacher training and the initial stages of my teaching career. Therefore, I am writing to ask whether it would be possible for me to undertake a X day period of observation at your school in XXX at your convenience.

The purpose of this period of observation is as follows: (随便选两三个） a) To give me the experience in the phase of education which precedes the one in which I am going to work; b) To enable me to grasp a better understanding of MFL in the KS1-KS2 curriculum. c) To provide me with a picture of the prospective students in XXX School.

d) To help me with the experience of how primary students transit to selective/comprehensive schools in the local area.

e) To give Secondary PGCE student teachers experience in the phase of education which precedes the one in which they are going to work;

f) To enable them to observe and work with young children as an introduction to the course;

g) To provide a suitable setting in which student teachers can adjust to working with children;

h) To provide them with an opportunity to participate appropriately in any aspect of the life of the school.

The IOE has set guidelines for our observations, giving us four short tasks, which will involve me asking a small number of questions and observing children and teachers. I will also do my best to be helpful to the school during this time.

If you are able to assist, I will be able to provide more details of my background experience and DBS check certificate. In return, I am willing to help at any aspect of the school during my stay.
